Strathcona’s fifth annual fun money Casino & Poker Night raised approximately $130,000 in support of Lionheart Foundation recently.
Hosted at the Calgary Petroleum Club, the event brings employees, vendors and sponsors together, and has seen increasing engagement and funds raised year-over-year. Since 2021, the event has raised over $245,000!
“A big thank you to everyone who played, contributed and volunteered their time to make this event a standout success,” says Connie De Ciancio, CCO. “It was a memorable evening and the funds raised will help make a material impact on this deserving cause.”
Lionheart is an organization that works to improve access to mental health supports for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety-based challenges. 100 per cent of the funds raised go toward supporting therapy costs for financially disadvantaged youth in Calgary and the surrounding area.
Strathcona was honoured to welcome Claire, a graduate of Lionheart’s programming who shared her journey with the 300 fully engaged attendees in the room. Everyone was captivated with Claire’s vulnerability to share such a personal story; to see Claire speak was a testament to Lionheart’s impact and their cause.
Guests also had the opportunity to connect with Lionheart’s Executive Director, Jamilah Edwards, “The generosity of donors like you is what enables us to implement our mission of providing best-in-class therapy in a timely and appropriate manner in a variety of settings within the community.”
Strathcona is proud to support community partners like Lionheart. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the 2025 Casino & Poker Night a record-breaking event. And we couldn’t have done it without this year’s event sponsors.
