Creating meaningful impact starts with investing in initiatives that remove barriers and open doors for people in our communities. That’s why we’re proud to contribute $200,000 to the Cold Lake Food Bank’s new facility as a Core Community Partner.
Our investment will help bring to life the Food Bank’s new Community Market – a self-service shopping space designed to provide individuals and families with greater choice, dignity and flexibility when accessing food support.
When we first learned about the Cold Lake Food Bank’s plans to expand, we saw an opportunity to support a project that addresses a growing need in the region. Demand for food services continues to rise and the current facility is limited in its ability to offer a full self-serve experience. The new Community Market represents a significant step forward – enhancing access, reducing waste and enabling households to select foods that best meet their needs.
With more than 200 Strathcona employees and contractors living and working in the Lakeland region, this partnership is especially meaningful to us. Supporting local organizations like the Cold Lake Food Bank is one way we invest in the well-being of the communities our team members call home.
We’re honoured to be the Food Bank’s first official partner in this campaign and hope our contribution encourages others to get involved. Building a stronger, more resilient community requires collective action, and we’re proud to play a role in supporting long-term food security in Cold Lake and the surrounding area.
